Employee selection
Employee selection is where, through a number of methods, you identify
the correct person for a role or function. Primarily the focus is on
recruiting external candidates but can be equally applied internally for
promotion or transfer.
Assessment or development centres are
constructed from a range of group exercises, individual case studies,
role plays and themed exercises. Each of the exercises is chosen
specifically to predict an individual’s performance in the role.
Psychometric
testing is a set of tools used to assess individuals in the
workplace. Quick and easy to administer with a range of online and face
to face options.
Behavioural
profiling is a quick way to predict how an individual will behave or
respond in differing situations.
Behavioural based interviewing uses predetermined skills and attributes
which are necessary for the role or function as the basis for very
specific questions whereby an individual can demonstrate through their
answers whether they have the necessary criteria for that role.

Why use employee selection?
Individually or preferably in combinations of 2 or more, these methods
provide a comprehensive process to identify whether an individuals has
the necessary skills, attributes and characteristics to perform a job
role or function.
Assessment Centres are a proven way of
assessing ability to perform the critical functions of the job.
Alternatively they can be also used to identify areas for development in
current roles.
